Ever get a headache or feel fatigued in the middle of the day? It could be a sign of dehydration, especially with the summer heat. Yet, that 4th or 5th cup or bottle of water is just not that appealing. Here are some ideas to help you stay haute, healthy and hydrated!

Did you know that water loss, as little as  2% of our body’s water content, can cause dehydration and impact your physical and mental performance?

Water makes up around 60% of our bodies and is important for our bodies to function properly and survive. Water helps our bodies to stay cool in the heat, removes waste and toxins, keeps our joints and muscles supple not to mention supports our energy levels, mood, and memory. Muscles are 80% water so staying hydrated can help reduce oxidative stress during high intensity exercise, hikes, and even keeping up with the kids. A general recommendation is to drink 6 to 8, 8 ounce glasses of water daily.

While water is very important, sometimes it can be hard to meet the recommended intake goal.  A plain glass of water, while cool and refreshing, is often not appetizing to the eye nor does it offer much flavor to satisfy the taste buds.

Therefore, I like to shake things up by adding fresh fruits and herbs to give more flavor as well as additional nutritional benefits. Why be hot when you can be HAUTE, Healthy & Hydrated!!

Below is the simple recipe for my favorite fruit infused water combinations.
